In 2017 the 27th national woodskills competition was held as part of the Kawerau Woodfest. This was the first time I had entered any official judged competition and I was thrilled to be awarded a first place in the ‘First Time Entrants’ competition with my Black Walnut and Rimu ‘Rocket’ pot.
I was also awarded two ‘Highly Commended’ awards for my Plum Burl hollow form and my Black Walnut and Turquoise lidded box.
