This is really special and very rare ancient swamp Kauri that has had Turquoise powder inlaid into the voids and 'imperfections' in the wood. The bark inclusion was purposefully left intact as the artist feels it adds to the natural nature of the wood. Nothing in nature is perfect, and while the curve on the inside of this bowl is as near as perfect as he may ever get in turning a bowl, the bark inclusion adds a little something to remind us that nature is perfect in her imperfection.
